Internal Medicine Prevention and Early Detection
We offer more than just standard check-ups: expanded lab work, sonography, BIA and sleep screening — making risks visible before symptoms appear.
Preventive services in our practice go far beyond standard check-ups. As a specialist in general internal medicine with additional certifications in diabetology, nutritional medicine and hypertension management, I support you in identifying and minimizing potential risks early. The focus is on major internal medicine conditions: metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases and sleep disorders.
Diagnostic focal points
Cardiovascular health
- ECG and long-term ECG (24-hour rhythm analysis)
- 24-hour blood pressure monitoring with secondary hypertension screening
- Vascular ultrasound with IMT (intima-media thickness) measurement for cardiovascular risk stratification
Diabetes and metabolism
- Expanded laboratory diagnostics with metabolic analysis
- Fasting glucose, HbA1c and insulin levels
- Lipid panel and kidney/liver function
Fatty liver and hepatic health
- Quantitative ultrasonography (QUS)
- Transient elastography for fibrosis assessment
- More on liver diagnostics
Hypertension
- Secondary hypertension screening with structured protocol
- Individual risk stratification and therapy optimization
Sleep disorders
- Sleep screening for signs of breathing disorders
- Ambulatory polygraphy for sleep apnea diagnostics
- More on sleep diagnostics
Primary care foundation
Beyond our specializations, we are of course your primary care practice for general medical care: acute office visits, vaccinations (including travel vaccinations), health examinations (Check-up 35), disease management programs, wound care, referrals and long-term care of chronic conditions. Internistic specialization complements this foundation — it does not replace it.
Extended diagnostics within the extended consultation
Beyond the regular statutory insurance services, further internal medicine examination and counseling procedures are available. These are performed within the extended internal medicine consultation on Thursdays (private and self-pay consultation):
- Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA): Measurement of fat, muscle, and water mass — foundation for objective weight management (More on BIA)
- CGM Metabolic Screening (4 weeks): Continuous glucose measurement via sensor even without diabetes diagnosis — in obesity, insulin resistance, or prediabetes. Sensor application, 4 weeks monitoring, physician analysis with nutritional recommendations. Note: In diabetes with insulin therapy, CGM is a statutory service. (All details on CGM)
- Extended laboratory analysis: Vitamin D, HOMA index, adiponectin, fatty acid profile, micronutrient profile — beyond insurance standards
- Metabolic check-up: Analysis of insulin resistance, lipid profile, and metabolic risk markers
- Liver diagnostics (elastography): Quantitative ultrasound elastography for assessment of fatty liver and fibrosis — non-invasive, without radiation exposure (More on liver diagnostics)
- Vascular diagnostics: Duplex sonography of carotid and pelvic vessels as well as leg vein diagnostics (More on ultrasound diagnostics)
- IMT measurement (carotid sonography): Intima-media thickness of the carotid artery as an early marker of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular risk
- Travel medicine consultation: Vaccination advice and health precautions for international travel
Our examinations follow current guidelines from professional societies (DDG, DAG, DHL, DGEM, DGSM). Self-pay services are billed according to the GOÄ; before the service is provided, we conclude a written agreement in accordance with § 18 (8) BMV-Ä with transparent cost information.
